Politics in games ... mehh

I don’t have much to say on this topic. I will say that I feel game and politic do not match well and the political process does not help game at all. Many games try to make a political statement end up as a bad game or a really bad game with bad game mechanics. For example, at the game symposium on of the presenters introduce a game about deportation, which was primarily a hide and seek game with a lot of text. This game was far from engaging and dealt less as a game and more as a text with game play attributes.
The game political game out now is filled with bias that these game are not longer political but propaganda. Many political game posts 9/11 fall under propaganda, weather it’s for or against the war. For example, game like September 12, were nothing you do can solve the problem dealing with terrorist. It has been in recent year that political game has taken a turn to attempt teaching people about problem dealing with the world. Game such as third world farmer and Darfur is dying has attempted to show the struggles other people have around the world. These game, although simple, tend to fall short of getting the message across to the degree that they were meant to. These Games tend to be played as a time wasting flash game were there message falls upon many deaf ears. It is because of these problems I feel politics and game do not mix unless the political statements are made to enhance the game story or play.
